Russia At Large

I am a person of a Georgian descent and being one am obviously prejudiced to a certain degree but even being so I am capable of retaining objectiveness. In any case here it goes. The conflict between Georgia and Russia, or should I say Russian bullying of Georgia and invading its territory stems not from need to protect its citizens, citizens that Russia granted passports to just so it would have a pretext to "protect" should Georgia decide to protect its integrity, but from Russia insatiable appetite and ambitions that have no visible borders. It is evident just by the sheer size of that empire. It occupies roughly one 5th of the whole land mass of planet earth. You don't get to be that size without tremendous bloodshed and expansion at the expense of locals. The curious part of all that is that any logical and sensible country would want to be surrounded by successful , stable and democratic neighbours but mind you we are talking about Russia and in Russia's case Russia doesn't want to have any neighbours period. Sounds impossible? Maybe not so much so. Russia has no physical neighbours to the east of it just a huge expanse of the pacific Ocean. To the north it has Arctic Ocean. To the west it extends all the way to the Baltic sea and the neighbours that it does have there are little European states that given a chance could be easily invaded and even though they are members of the EU Europe will do little to protect them witnessed by the kind of reaction and weakness they have shown during the Russian invasion of Georgia. So what is left? The south is occupied by Russian satellite States of Kazakhstan,Turkmenistan etc. Russia doesn't want anyone else to succeed. Russia doesn't want anyone else to exist period. Remember the lessons of history. Look what happened when Hitler was given as Carte Blanche till it was too late. Don't let that happen again.

Russia: Mentality of a drunk.

I hate Russia and everything it stands for. I wish they run out of oil and gas as soon as possible and fall into as many pieces as possible. I wish Mongols invade it again as if it were Ginghis Khan times again. Russia is a country that is driven by alcohol and will always be driven by alcohol. It's natural resources is the only thing that allows them to sustain themselves and have the whole Europe in their pockets.

Georgia Rape Victim On A Massive scale.

If one ever wanted to find out what it felt like to be a victim of rape look to Georgia for the answer. Georgia as a country has just been brutally raped by Russia and the whole world is Russia's accomplice. Did Russia promise Europe natural gas and oil at half price? Is this what it takes to invade an independent country? Are we going to passively look on as Russia violates Georgia? Are we so oblivious as to believe that Georgia was really an aggressor in that whole thing? Have we already forgotten history when the whole world looked on as Germany was invading Poland and annihilating the Jewish population of Europe? Is this what it takes for the world to wake up and stand up to Russia?

Coned Rates Up Oil Prices Blamed

Time and time again we keep on being reminded of a simple fact that our oil glass, so to say, is half empty but the companies that need to be ahead of the curve are the ones stuck in the mud. Coned is the perfect example. How can a company trusted to provide electricity to NYC misread the current situation so badly and do absolutely no looking ahead as to using something other than oil to generate electricity. In our day and age why weren't all the generating stations currently operating on oil converted to something else. Prices of oil didn't rise overnight so the company had ample time to deal with the situation. I'd rather pay more for electricity knowing it goes towards upgrading the infrastructure in order to use renewable sources of energy rather than pay more for their mistake without implementing any changes.

Coned Rates Up Due To Oil Price Increase

Is this the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard or what? I would have never imagined that any intelligent person in his or her right mind would devise a more ridiculous plan than that. Burning one precious source of energy which is oil in this case in order to generate a much cheaper source of energy and expecting or should I say succeeding in passing on the expense of such a stupid procedure onto the end user,us, consumers. Who is more stupid Coned for burning oil to get electricity or we, consumers, who let Coned get away with it? Why don't we then just do the burning ourselves? We would be just as efficient by purchasing the gas powered generators for each individual household and do the burning. I thought the whole idea behind electricity is that it could be generated using renewable sources, not that I'm saying that oil isn't renewable but it takes millions of years to do so,but I guess coned has different thoughts regarding the matter. And aren't we unnecessarily adding to global warming by burning fossil fuel and releasing all that carbon back into the atmosphere? Aren't cars enough we have to generate electricity by burning fossil fuel too?

Streaming Sirius Radio

Not too long ago I have purchased a rather interesting device that allows me to stream all of my media files and more from my laptop onto my home theater without running a single wire. The whole setup was incomplete without me being able to listen to my Howard Stern and hundreds of other channels using the same setup. I signed up to forums and was given solutions that required programming skills which I don't have so in the end I gave up until one day I stumbled upon a software that allows me to do all that and more. It's called Orb. The software is available for download at www.orb.com. Not only do I stream my sirius to popcorn hour but now I can also listen to it on my phone. All you need is a small program called usirius or uxm depending on whether you have xm or sirius subscription and an Orb server. The rest is history. If you have questions regarding the setup don't hesitate to comment on the page and I will promptly answer.

Extreme and violent porn

United Kingdom of England and Northern Ireland has proposed a law that would censor porn on the internet and prosecute any persons involved in watching and/or downloading extreme or violent porn. Not that i live in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland or am a big lover of an extreme or violent porn, but a question arises. Who is going to decide what a violent or extreme porn is? Is a deepthroat considered extreme or violent, or any other somewhat hardcore sexual act for that matter?

Iran's President speaks out .

Today, I read about Iran's president complaining about United States intervention with Iran's internal affairs, namely their right to enrich uranium. In this speech he said and I quote: "Iran has never violated any nation's rights. But it doesn't mean that Iran will let anybody violate its' rights". I personally can come up with a dozen of cases when Iran did violate other nation's rights, coming from a country that has been violated by Iran and its' predecessor Persia on numerous occassions. The country's name is Georgia. Mr President should read history of his own country before making bold statements like that. Not that I encourage or somehow support America's intervetion in any country's affairs, on the contrary I strongly feel United States is becoming somewhat of a bully, starting to resemble an Empire they called evil, that is Soviet Union.

Excommunication in Columbia

Today while in my car i was listening to a BBC broadcast and heard some shocking news about a case in Columbia where doctors performed a legal abortion on an 11 year old girl who was molested by her step father. A columbian cardinal called for an excommunication of all the parties involved including the doctors and the girl's family. He was basing his call for an excommunication on a simple fact that a catholic church counts from the moment of conception and thus considers an abortion a murder, a sin so severe that it's worthy of an ultimate punishment, excommunication and at that moment i thought about millions of people who died and were killed in the name of that same church and by that church throughout its' history. Has anybody been excommunicated then? It just feels so wrong when an organization like a Catholic church, an organization that has its' hands full in blood of innocent people passes on judgements like that and expects people to follow suit.

This one is a test blog

I had nothing to do so i decided to give this thing a try so here i am. I don't think anybody will be reading this so i guess i'm writing it for myself. I usually have so much to say about a number of different topics but right now nothing really strikes me so i'm going to write about nothing. In any case, I guess i'll post something later.
